Why is this method different to a stand mixer?

The blades in the Thermo cooker or food processor work differently to a paddle attachment on a stand mixer.  Therefore altering the process will help you achieve better results when using equipment like this.  
Bec explains the science behind her method in this course and shares some great recipes to start you off.

Will this method stop my cookies from spreading?

This method is brilliant for that.
Bec goes into great detail to explain why cookies spread and how this method solves the issues.  

Can I use this method in a food processor?

Yes, this has been explained in the course and the eBook method steps.  For example, for Thermomix owners, the time/speed will be given at each step.  For other brands of food processors, Bec has explained what each step is to achieve and what the mix should look like.
