This is the easiest, sourdough recipe I’ve ever tried. My family loved the beautiful bread I produced. It’s Bec’s tips and tricks that made the difference.

Always thought is was lots of work for the starter, its feeding, making the loaves... but no! Bec has made it so very simple, done all the troubleshooting for you. Bec's videos in the course are really helpful if you are a visual person like me.

FAQs

Is this course on a specific date?

No, it's the type of online course that is there when ever you want to log in.

Can you make a loaf that is suitable for diabetics.

Although we're not Doctors here at Bec's table there is quite a lot of research suggesting Sourdough can of benefit for people with diabetes.  LInks have been added within the course to some great Dr’s websites for you to have a read.

Why would I do this course and not purchase a book?

First, this is Bec's method and yes one day she may write a book about sourdough but the course is a much better option for learning.  Bec is available as your teacher when ever you have a question.  You don't get that sort of interaction with a book.

What is the best, everyday, method for making Sourdough?

Of course, we're going to say Bec's way is the best.  LOL  She literally mixes, rests, mixes, rests, shapes, rests and bakes. Each step takes 5 minutes or less.  It’s so easy you could make a loaf every day.

I'm very confused about the starter and how to keep it alive and how much to use.

You might be surprised at how little starter you need for my method.  There’s something magical about the whole yeast process.  Many people think their starter has died when quite often it’s fine and it just needs a feed.  Everything is explained in detail and all myths are busted within this course.

I would love some clear advice with the starter – I’m never sure what I’m doing

Making and feeding the starter isn’t as complicated as some of the advice given on the internet.  I have a section on replenishing and feeding; It’s pretty comprehensive and a simple task.  Of course, if you have any questions though, just ask in the comments section of the course. That’s the beauty of doing our course; we’re here to help you along the way.

What to cook it in and how much kneading

You may be surprised at what I use to bake off my loaves in. You don’t need anything too fancy.  For my method, you don’t need to knead your Sourdough at all.  It’s all about gluten development, and we’re going to let it take its own time to do that.   In fact, for the health benefits, I believe it’s better just to leave it and let it do its thing.

How do I prove dough correctly?

This is a good one. Sourdough is not the same as a standard commercial yeasted bread.  It can be a little hard to judge any bread proving until you have the experience, but I’ve got a bit of a trick that I show you in a video.
